Auburn - Roger M. Morin, age 80, of Lewiston, passed away Tuesday morning at The Hospice House with the love of his life at his side. He was born in Lewiston August 30, 1935, one of five children born to Romeo and Ida (Foley) Morin. Roger was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community. Roger was a Military Veteran, enlisted in 1958 and served his country in active duty with the Army as well as the Army National Guard of Maine until his Honorable Discharge in 1964. On April 11, 1959 he married the former Therese Savard and together they settled in Lewiston to raise their family. Roger worked 20 years for Polar Paints until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and went fishing with his boys and also followed the sport of NASCAR racing and loved to watch Red Sox games with his wife. For many years, he took annual trips to attend the NASCAR races in New Hampshire with his son Dan. But his greatest joy, by far, was spending enjoyable family times with his wife, children and grandchildren especially the family cookouts, including red hot dogs on the grill. Roger was a loving, devoted and hardworking husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind his wife Therese Morin of Lewiston; his daughter Sandy Chabot and husband Raymond of Lewiston; two sons Danny Morin of Minot and
Steven Morin and wife Denise of Lewiston; six grandchildren Jason Chabot and wife Roxanne, Todd Morin, Stacie Chabot and boyfriend Corey Plesz,
Greg Morin and fiancée Taylor Freeman, Specialist Nathan Morin and wife Stephanie and Sabrina Dufresne and husband Corporal Colby Dufresne
Three great-grandchildren Cora Chabot, Lilliana Dufresne and Dustin Wing two sisters Priscilla Morin of CT, Muriel Lepage and husband Raymond, also of CT;
a brother Gerard Morin and wife Doris of Lewiston and a deceased sister Irene Fouquette , A sister-in-law Bernadette Monegain, a special niece Kristie Sivells and husband Derek and their two daughters Megan and Nicole Sivells as well as several nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service will take place at Fortin / LEWISTON Sat. 1 PM. At his prior request, there are no visiting hours. Interment will take place at a later date in the family lot at St. Peter's Cemetery.
