Roger Langlois, age 82, passed on September 13 at Bolster Heights in Auburn, where he had been a resident since 2009. Born in Lewiston on October 29, 1927, he was the son of Ovila and Marie Samson Langlois. He was a first generation Lewistonian, after his parents and siblings immigrated from St. Narcisse, PQ. Mr. Langlois grew up on Horton Street, and attended St. Peter s School and St. Dominic s High School. In 1952, he married the former Therese Mailhot upon his return from duty in Korea. She passed away in 2009. Together, they raised their family at 14 Parker Street where they lived for 51 years, and were parishioners of Sainte Croix Church. Mr. Langlois was employed by several optical laboratories until he retired in 1990. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and taking winter vacations to Florida. He spent many days and vacations at Old Orchard Beach with his family, and was an avid Pinochle player. He enjoyed gardening and tended his beautiful flower beds with much care. Family was always his priority, and he spent many years caring for family members who were ill. He supported and encouraged his children in their personal and professional lives, and he was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Langlois was predeceased by his three brothers Odias and wife Marguerite, Lucien and wife Louise, and Alfred and wife Yvette. His two sisters Eva and husband Reneau Galipeau, and Rose and husband Fred Harlow are also deceased. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Ray and Liliana of Houston, Texas, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Peter Wagner of Wyman, and son Greg and his partner David of Portland. Also surviving are sister-in-law and brother-in-law Constance and Bertrand Sutton, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Richard and Claudette Mailhot and Paul and Debi Mailhot. The grandchildren are Jason and Kevin Sirois, Kimberly Jasniewski, and Elliott and Christine Langlois. Great- grandchildren are Michael, Sebastian, Dylan, Cole, Devon, Samara and Hayleigh Sirois.
