He was born on January 13, 1940 in St. Agatha, Maine the oldest son of the late Wallace J. & Rita M. (Bourgoin) Bosse. He moved to the Lewiston-Auburn area as a young boy via the Grand Trunk Railway Station. He graduated from St. Dominic’s Regional High School in 1958.
Dick worked in various shoe shops before buying and operating Bosse's Variety in New Auburn for 10 years. He then worked at Carter Milling before moving onto Andy's Barn and selling carpeting and flooring. While there Dick won many awards and trips for the amount of sales he produced. An accomplishment he was very modest about. Once Andy's Barn closed he continued to sell carpeting and flooring at Marden's and Home Depot with continued record sales until his retirement.
Dick was an avid bowler at Holiday Lanes maintaining a high average of about 275. He participated in several men's and couples leagues in his younger years. Dick got to complete against Pete Couture only losing by a few pins. In later years he bowled small balls at Spare Time Recreation.
He is survived by two daughters Lisa R. Allen and her husband Richard of Wiscasset, ME and Sherri L. Duke and her husband Christopher of Port St Lucie, FL. He also leaves behind three grandchildren Dominique and Olivia Morin and Xavier Vega and a great granddaughter Everleigh Morin as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Raoul and Raymond Bosse.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 2 – 4 pm at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 217 Turner St., Auburn, ME. A prayer service will be held at 2:30 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at a later date.
