On June 8, 2023, Paul ascended to his new home with the Lord. He was born Dec 27, 1936, the son of Paul Dumont and Ida Ouellette. He has been a resident of Lewiston all his life. In 1958 he married his soul mate, Claudette Croteau. They were devoted to each other for the past 64 years. He started working at an early age for his father in the family business, the Triangle Service Station. He served proudly in the U.S. Army for 8 years. He went on to work at Flock Buick as a service manager and to L&A Tire Co. for 11 years. In 1980 he bought Armand’s Auto Body Shop and ran it until his retirement in 2000; he then passed his business to his son.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the simplest things in life like hunting and fishing on Moosehead Lake, as well as deep sea fishing on his boat with his family and friends. He also enjoyed bowling and was on a league for several years. He served as past president of the Auburn Skeet Club which he enjoyed for many years.
Paul will be remembered for many things, but most of all for being the greatest husband, father and grandfather anyone could ever know. He was a man who would do anything for anyone without hesitation. He will be fondly remembered for his gentle and considerate mannerism, and always offering a smile. He volunteered for CMMC for the last 12 years which brought him great joy and a new sense of purpose. He found a passion for helping the nursing staff, and received recognition and appreciation from them and spread his love with candy. He was a man with a devout faith and attended daily mass whenever possible.
