

LEWISTON - Ovide A. Routhier, 94, a resident of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn, formerly of Lewiston died Friday evening at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center following a long illness with his family by his side. He was born in St. Malo, P.Q. May 22, 1914, the son of Dasy and Anna (Inkel) Routhier. Ovide moved to Lewiston from Canada at a young age and had worked most of his life for Lewiston Crush Stone until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, camping and the great outdoors. Survivors include two daughters, Clarisse Routhier of Sherbrooke, P.Q., and Rita Nadeau and her husband, Conrad of Windsor, P.Q.; two sons, Armand Routhier and his wife, Francoise of Lewiston, and Arthur Routhier and his wife, Pearl of Sabattus; two sisters, Lucille St. Germain of Cookshire, P.Q., and Marianna Mercier and her husband, Robert of St. Albans, VT. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ovide was predeceased by his first wife the former Celina Mongeau, October 4, 1983, and by his second wife the former Louise Poulin who died April 15, 2005. ROUTHIER died in Lewiston, June 20, 2008, Mr. Ovide A. Routhier age 94 years formerly of Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held WEDNESDAY 11:00AM at Holy Cross Church. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
