Muguette was born on February 12, 1917 in Lewiston, daughter of Louis G. Coté and Elina Pelletier Coté. She attended Ste Croix School and completed her education with the Sisters of Presentation of Mary in Saint-Hyacinthe and Coaticook, Québec.
She worked for many years at the Bates Manufacturing Company in the lab. Muguette was active in parish organizations at Ste Croix church, serving as president of Amical des Anciens, Union St-Jean-Baptiste Conseil Ste Croix, and Enfants de Marie
She cared for both of her parents, and a sister and brother into their old age. In her retirement, she was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital and loved her apartment at Maison Marcotte. She later moved to Montello Heights in Lewiston and was an active member of that community for thirteen years.
Muguette was an independent, optimistic, cheerful, and resourceful person with a great sense of humor. In her eighties, she was fascinated with personal computers. She purchased one for herself and took computer classes. She once said, “I was born too early to benefit from these wonderful inventions.”
Muguette was predeceased by her parents and siblings: Albert, Alberta, Léo, Laurier, Lionel, Gérard, and Simonne (Landry.) She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Montello Heights and Androscoggin Home Health Care & Hospice for their attentive care and kindness.
