Larry R. Duprey, 56, of Lewiston, lost his battle with cancer on August 21, 2024 at the Hospice House in Auburn with his partner, Ken, by his side. Larry was born in Lewiston on August 31, 1967, the son of Roger Duprey and Nancy (Bradbury) Duprey.
He attended Auburn Schools and graduated from Edward Little High School. He enlisted in, and served four years in the U. S. Navy.
After his military service, he worked nearly 30 years for Danny Poulin at Orphan Annie's Antiques in Auburn, and also designed the front holiday windows there which so many local residents enjoyed viewing. Independently, he spent much of his time tending his own Antique Booths at the Willows in Mechanic Falls and at Cabot Mill in Brunswick
Larry enjoyed the ocean and spent much time there with his friends, Laurie and Joe, Jodi, James and Tammy, Melissa, and Amy, as well as attending many group activities together. But most of all, he enjoyed being around his family, including gathering for Wednesday Night dinners. He spent the last 30 years lovingly caring for his mother after his father passed away. A meaningful part of his life was taking care of his many cats.
Larry leaves behind his partner Kenny Keene, his mother, Nancy Duprey of Auburn, siblings: David Duprey of Auburn, Pamela Duprey and partner Mike Wilson of North Monmouth, Robin Mitchell of Arizona, Timothy Duprey of Monmouth, Melissa Duprey and partner George (Flip) Gosselin of Lewiston, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Roger C. Duprey, his Great-Great Niece Azalea Duprey and also his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
A private family service will be held at a future time. In lieu of flowers, to honor Larry's memory, visit and mention his name at Orphan Annie's Antiques in Auburn.
Arrangements by the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston, 784-4023. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed at www.lynchbrothers.com .
