Born in Gardiner, ME on May 21, 1933 the daughter of Maurice and Helen (Dill) Nuzzo. She attended schools in Wales and graduated from Lewiston High School. On June 6, 1954 she married Clinton Seaman and together they raised their family.
Joan worked the family businesses Matthews Auto Parts and the Great Outdoors for many years and always had plenty of family pets that she loved but she will always be remembered as Mumma Jo to many including Penny, Ken & Daphne, Amanda and Dawn, as Grammie Jo to Chris and Leah, and Great to one very special Little Man, Weston. Her closest circle of friends were very familiar with her unpredictable wit and dry sense of humor, including The Stitch and Bitch ladies, Duane and Terry (Tweedie), and many others too numerous to mention. Her roots ran deeply in Turner, especially on Pleasant Pond. Her Florida years were filled with memories of fun filled cruises and pool parties with her husband and great friends. Later in her life Mumma Jo was always up for a good game of Scrabble, road trips looking for the right antique or a cheap yard sale find to regift at Christmas.
She is survived her children Mike, Scott, Mary, Phyllis, and Larry; a granddaughter Jessie and her sister Barbara. She was predeceased by her husband and her parents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lee and Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to their mother.
