Jeanne M. Tardif

LEWISTON - Jeanne M. Tardif, 94, a resident of 18 Louise Avenue, Lewiston died peacefully Thursday morning at Marshwood Health Care Facility with her family by her side. She was born in Scotstown, P.Q., on December 8, 1912, the daughter of Alphonse and Volumnie (Dumoulin) Gobeil. Jeanne was a member of Holy Cross Church, and had been a resident of Lewiston since 1933. She had worked in the local shoe industry as a stitcher, and married Jean Paul Tardif on June 13, 1942. Survivors include two sons, Daniel Tardif and his wife Susan of Sanford; Richard Tardif and his wife, Rachel of Sabattus; one daughter, Patricia Hogan of Kennebunk; 8 grandchildren, Mrs. Douglas (Danielle) Averill of Litchfield; Michelle Bosse of Brunswick; Mrs. Scott (Nicole) Anthoine of Auburn; Marc Tardif of Arvada, Colorado; Matthew Tardif and his wife, Kim of Springvale; Brian Tardif of Orlando, FL; Jennifer Hogan of Gorham, and Rob Hogan of Kennebunk; 6 great grandchildren, Nicholas Bosse of Sabattus and Kaitlyn Bosse of Brunswick; Matthew and Jonathon Averill of Litchfield; and Brennan and Patrick Anthoine of Auburn. She was predeceased by her husband, Jean Paul Tardif who died October 11, 2000 as well as three brothers, Lucien, Fernand, and Maurice Gobeil. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Marshwood Health Care for the excellent care they provided their mother, Jeanne during her illness. TARDIF died in Lewiston, September 20, 2007, Mrs. Jeanne M. Tardif age 94 years a resident of Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring her life will be held MONDAY 11:00AM at Holy Cross Church. Interment with committal prayers to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
