Lewiston- On Oct 20 2013 at 2:18pm, James Albert McLellan, of Lewiston, completed this journey we call life. He had his family close and now his struggle is over. He was born in Lewiston on May 28 1939 To Arthur and Alice McLellan just a few minutes before his Brother and best friend Terry. Jim grew up in the Lewiston area, remaining here until he joined the US Army. He was very proud of his military time in Korea from 1956 to 1959 and shared many stories of this time in service to our country. Upon completion of his enlistment, Jim returned home to meet and marry Lucille Giard. They had 5 children together and remained friends for all of their lives. Jim was a legendary "cutter" in the Lewiston/Auburn leather industry, working for most of the shoe and slipper shops in the area. He also drove taxi for many years. Jimmy McLellan was a hard worker. More than 30 years ago He met Helene Rodrigue and they were lifelong partners in life, in dancing and cards . Jimmy loved to fish and hunt the waters and woods of Central Maine. Jim is survived by his wife Helene of Lewiston, his children Brian McLellan, Sandy Zally, Alice and her husband Tony Marshall, Christine McLellan, and Kevin and his wife Marie McLellan, 18 Grandchildren and 5 (plus 2 on the way) Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin Brother Terry and his wife Monique, and sisters Connie, Cathy, and brother Michael, and was pre-deceased by his parents and one sister Mary-Lou.
