

TOGUS, MAINE-Glenfield George Parker was born in Danvers, Massachusetts on June 11, 1945. He attended the Danvers public schools. Glen worked with his father in the family business, "Parker the Chimney Man" repairing and cleaning chimneys. He served in the u.s. Navy upon the U.S.S. Coral Sea as a catapult operator during the Vietnam war; upon his discharge he went back to work as "Parker the Chimney Man." He worked as a fisherman on various off-shore lobster boats. In 1979 he went to work in Morgan City, Louisiana for Tag Fleet Company as Captain of the Tag VI a water safety/supply ship. He retired from the United States Post Office in Lynn, MA. His last working venture was to fulfill a dream and helped create "Pete's Roast Beef' in Winthrop, Maine named for Grandson Peter "Pete". Glen was an avid fisherman, loved boating, waterskiing, cars, motorcycles, snowmobiling, darts and golf. He loved cooking and entertaining for family and friends, and always looked forward to his annual Pig Roast which began as a surprise party on his 60th birthday. Glen and his wife Linda loved being around family and friends entertaining at their pool or towing children behind Glen's boat at his mother-in-Iaw's New Hampshire camp. You could sit with him for hours and he would never run out of stories to tell. Glen was a great friend to many and loved life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, Linda their two daughters Ann Marie of Middleton, MA. and Michelle Rubchinuk of Winthrop, ME; grandson and namesake Peter Glenfield Rubchinuk; mother Miriam Parker Nee and her husband Paul Nee of Danvers, MA; brothers Wayne Parker; and Darryl Parker and his wife Kathleen, of Danvers, MA; sisters Marlene Oster and her husband Robert of Danvers, MA; Jeannine Parker of Exeter, NH; and Gail Parker of Fort Pierce, FL; uncle/friend G. Richard Parker and numerous extended family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his father Herbert Glenfield Parker, and grandparents Myer (Willie) and Ida Bluestein of Chelsea, MA and later Hallendale, Florida; and Edna Druce Parker of Danvers, MA. He passed away on January 19th with his wife and daughters by his side after a long battle with many illnesses. He will be greatly missed by many.
