She was born in Duanesburg, NY on May 2, 1944, a daughter to Palmer Burnett and Anna Schwartz. She had one sister, Bonnie Lawton.
Gayle grew up in upstate New York, but always considered Maine to be her forever home. She was a woman of extreme faith and dedicated caregiver, quilter, traveler and homemaker. Everyone she loved received a piece of her heart through a gift of a quilted item. She and her husband loved to travel and traversed the continental US several times.
Primarily, Gayle loved being a Latter Day Saint. Aside from all of her many roles in the church, she was blessed to serve a mission in Edinburgh, Scotland November of 2021, through May of 2023.
Gayle is survived by her children Scott Janetsky (Jill Anderson); Brenda Janetsky (Benjamin Hennessy); Nicole Rodler, Jaime Ethier (Erin Coyle); Kim Marie Ethier; Andrew Ethier; Sarah King and Michael King; her grandchildren Adam, Ryan and Kyle Janetsky; Gabriel and Tristan Ethier; Ryan Rodler; Addison Taylor and Mya King; and her nephew Sean Lawton (Nick Autorino).
Gayle was predeceased by her spouse, Harry King, her mother, father and sister.
A funeral service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Yarmouth, ME will take place on Saturday, July 27th at 1PM, followed by a memorial service at Pond Cemetery in New Gloucester, ME at 3PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the Sarah Frye Home, 751 Washington St. North, Auburn, ME 04210 or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The family would like to especially thank the staff of the Sarah Frye Home and Beacon Hospice for their care and love during her final days.
