With heavy hearts, we share the news of Gary Grimmel's passing. On July 1st, 2023, at age 69 the world bid farewell to a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, leaving behind both a heritage and a legacy.
Born in Lewiston, ME, Gary possessed an unwavering determination from an early age. In 1971, he found his lifelong partner in Betty, and together they embarked on a remarkable journey, celebrating 51 years of marriage. Their enduring love and unwavering partnership inspired all who knew them.
As a father, Gary guided his sons, Toby and TJ, instilling in them the values of hard work and determination. His sons found their lifelong partners in daughters-in-law Leah and Kawehi. Gary adored his three grandchildren, finding immense joy in watching Trent, his grandson, fish, calling his granddaughter Bree "babydoll," and witnessing his new granddaughter Elizabeth's crawling adventures. While many knew him as the owner of Grimmel Industries, only a privileged few had the honor of knowing him as Dad, Husband, "Grampy," and a Scrap Legend. He also leaves behind his loving sister Bonnie of Hawaii and brother Danny of FLorida.
Amid our mourning for Gary Grimmel, let us also celebrate his remarkable life. May the memories we shared, the laughter we enjoyed, and the lessons he imparted bring solace. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of the lives he has touched, guiding and inspiring them.
