Cyrille A Baillargeon

Lewiston - Cyrille Baillargeon, 91, a resident of Warren Avenue, Lewiston, died January 27, 2010 at d'Youville Pavilion where he had been a resident for a year. He was born July 22,1918 in St. Ludger, Beauce Sud in the Province of Quebec to Charles and Josephine (Morin) Baillargeon. He was married to Emma (Dufresne) on May 10, 1941. He moved to Maine when he was thirteen where he went to work with his father as a lumberjack. He started working in the mills at the age of sixteen. He worked as a Weaver at Bates Mill for 37 years. He was a member of Holy Family Church for 59 years where he belonged to the St. Joseph Society. After retirement he was an Altar Server at his church for funerals and also worked as a Pallbearer for Pinette Funeral Home. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family meant everything to him. He also loved to work alongside his wife raising their own food in their garden. He volunteered at the senior citizen Bingo at Holy Family Church. He also belonged to the Marchands et .Marchandes de Bonheur at Marcotte Home and they helped with the elderly at d'Y ouville Pavilion for 9 years. He enjoyed walking, meeting his friends for coffee in the morning and also play cards with his friends and family. He had a kind heart, was always ready to help, and truly was a member of the greatest generation with his selflessness, work ethic, love of people, stubbornness, fun loving spirit, humility and deep faith. He will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Emma Baillargeon of 68 years, two sons Richard and his wife Constance (Boisclair) of Lisbon, and Leo and his wife Gail (Lagasse) of Lewiston; three daughters, Rachel and her husband Harvey Desgrosseilliers of Minot, Cecile and her husband Andre Langlois and Anita and her husband Paul Grenier both of Lewiston; three sisters, Emma Pelletier of Lewiston, Lucy Guerette of Florida, and Simonne McKenzie of Sidney, two grandsons, Troy Baillargeon of Tarrisville, Conn. and Shawn Langlois of Lewiston; six granddaughters, Ronda (Baillargeon) and her husband Michael Lecompte of Lewiston, Kim (Baillargeon) and her husband Steve Hachey of Winthrop, Doris (Grenier) and her husband William Webb of Blue Hill; Julie (Grenier) and her husband Jason Laplante of Lewiston; Celeste (Langlois) and her husband Daniel Horan of Manchester, NH; and Amanda (Baillargeon) and her husband Robert DeFlumere of Lewiston. Three step granddaughters: Jane Desgrosseilliers of Scottsdale, Arizona; Susan and her husband Andy MacMillan of Rockland, and Diana and her husband Simon Castle of Rockport, Me. Eight great grandchildren Logan and Lauren Lecompte of Lewiston; Mark and Adam Hachey of Winthrop; Isaac and Liam Webb of Blue Hill; Xavier Laplante of Lewiston and Eleanor Baillargeon of Tarrisville, Conn and six step-great grandchildren, Erika and Garrett Thorjornsen of Arizona; Alexandra and Emily MacMillan of Rockland and Oliver and Larson Castle of Rockport, a brother in law Lorenzo Kirouac , and aiater in law Eugenie Baillargeon both of Lewiston.He was predeceased by his parents and infant daughter Doris, three brothers, Henri, Gregoire and Jerome and four sisters, Lea Lacasse, Marianna Dutil, Marguerite Thibodeau and Noella Kirouac. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of 4 West at d’Youville Pavilion for their tender care and friendship as well as Dr. George Morrissette for his many years of devotion to Cyrille as a patient and to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Team. Baillargeon-Died in Lewiston Jan. 27, 2010.
