Barbara Ann Gayton

She was born in Waterville on February 16, 1942, a daughter to Alphonzo and Eleanor (Belanger) Davis.

She spent much of her life moving back and forth from Maine to Massachusetts, finally settling in Sabattus.

Barbara married John L. Gayton on April 15, 1961 and the two were happily married until his passing in September of 2024.

She proudly raised three children, managed Gayton's Welding Inc., was a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Sabattus American Legion and the Mountaineers Snowmobile Club. Barbara also enjoyed traveling and visited many places like Niagara Falls, Alaska, Hawaii, Bahamas, Dominican Republic and traveled to many states being a snowbird.

Barbara leaves behind her three children Mae Gayton Dennis, Julia Gayton-Bedard-Blythe and John L. Gayton Jr. and his wife Tammie. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, her sister Nancy Davis Randall from Florida as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation for Barbara will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, Maine 04240, followed by a Liturgy of the Word at 7:00 PM.
