Her beloved husband, Anthony F. Zaya, Sr. preceded her by thirteen years. She is survived by five children: Anthony Zaya (Barb), Theresa Briggs (Warren), Mary Mullin (Tom), Joseph Zaya (Cyndy), Linda Keddie (George), six grandchildren: Lisa Durle, Jenny Swope, David Briggs, Tony Keddie, Katie and Tommy Mullin. Sixteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, Isabella Durle.
Yolanda was a sweet and loving woman and, in matters of family, she always put herself last. She was the daughter of immigrants, Alphonso and Teresa Alonzo, who settled in Prescott, PA and later moved to Kennett Square, where her father and older brother established a mushroom business in 1938.
During her 100th year, two books were dedicated to her. One on architecture/design, the other on politics/religion. The first by a son; the second by a grandson. Both authors are named Tony. She lived with and was cared for by Linda and George Keddie. Her great grandchild Mary was her caregiver for the last few years.
One of nanny’s favorite things was to say a nightly Hail Mary before bed and pray for her family and friends.
Nanny will forever be missed, we are thankful for the many years we had together. We will begin to celebrate her everlasting life knowing she is at peace with God and reunited with Tony, her husband, once again!
Amen
