Willis E. Gillespie, of Levittown, died on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at his home. He was 80. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Gillespie has been a resident of Levittown since 1957. He worked at U.S. Steel's Fairless Works for 19 years until retiring in 1990. After retiring, Mr. Gillespie worked in sales at the J.C. Penney Furniture Outlet for 7 years and acurretnly as a dedicated crossing guard for the Bristol Township School District at John Fitch Elementary School. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel parish. Mr. Gillespie enjoyed golfing at the Oxford Valley Golf Course. He also enjoyed making stained glass and giving them as gifts. Mr. Gillespie was the beloved husband of Doris R. (Paletta) Gillespie for 59 years. He was the loving father of Cheryl A. Danese and her husband Peter of Newtown and the late Denise and Diane Gillespie. He will be missed by his pride and joy, his grandchildren Samantha and Dylan Danese, his stepgrandson Peter Danese and his wife Shelly, many close nieces and nephews and his in-laws Lorraine and George Bowyer and Helene Gillespie. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Willard Gillespie. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 9 until 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1617 JFK Blvd., Philadelphia., PA 19103.
