Walter J. Egan, Sr. of Morrisville, died on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 70 years old. Born in Trenton, Mr. Egan was raised in Yardley and has been a life long resident of Lower Bucks County. He was employed for many years as a maintenance mechanic for various companies including U.S. Steel, American Can Corp. and R.C. Hill Corp. Mr. Egan was an Army veteran and was a member of both American Legion Post #834 in Fallsington and Post #960 in Levittown. He was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed golfing and riding his motorcycle. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Mr. Egan is survived by his wife Loretta T. Egan (nee Tinsley). He was the loving father of Walter J. Egan Jr. of Fairless Hills, Elizabeth and her husband Scott Schultz of Yardley and Sue and her husband Steve Miller of Churchville. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jason, Alyssa, Joanne, Nicole ("Nick-el"), Stephen Jr., Sara and Shanna; his brother, Joseph Egan of Morrisville; his sister Jean Nugent of Philadelphia; his uncle James Watson of Morrisville and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment is private. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Medical Center - Cancer Unit, Langhorne Newtown Rd., Langhorne, PA 19047.
