Virginia Ruth CarrollVirginia Ruth Carroll passed away peacefully at Doylestown Hospital on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the age of 96.Born in Wausau, WI, and raised in Schofield, WI, Mrs. Carroll was a longtime resident of Bensalem, and for the last 2 months has resided at Neshaminy Manor.Her faith was most important to her. She was a longtime devoted member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bensalem.During World War II, Mrs. Carroll was a proud member of the US Naval Reserve, better known as the WAVES.She spent the latter years of her working career at R. Markey and Sons, in Manhattan, NY, which was a certified weighers company for raw commodities, where she met her future husband, Walter Carroll. Ginny was the executive secretary to the president of the company and retired after many dedicated years of service.In earlier years, she traveled the world with her first husband, Laurent Brackx, throughout his Naval career. More recently, Ginny lived a quiet and private life.Ginny enjoyed sitting outside on her patio and getting, as she called it, her "Vitamin D". She liked to educate herself about health and medicine which was very important to her. She would frequently say "health is wealth." Most importantly she enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. She loved old fashioned handwritten correspondence. She was a beautiful writer, being very extensive and descriptive. Over the years she sent and received many, many letters and cards, lovingly known as "Ginny Grams" to family and friends right up until the very end.Loving wife of the late Captain Laurent Brackx and the late Walter Carroll, Ginny is survived by her niece, Joyce Kline and her nephew, John Brackx. She will also be remembered fondly by her friend and caretaker, Theresa Carroll.Services and interment will be held privately. Ginny will be laid to rest at Pine Lawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY, with her late husband, Captain Laurent Brackx.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ginny's name may be made to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3900 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
