Thomas S. Harkins passed away at his home on Saturday, February 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 83.Born in Croydon, Tom was a lifetime resident of Lower Bucks County and was a very active member of Emilie United Methodist Church of Levittown.Tom started as a mechanic at 12 years old to help support his family and worked his way up to becoming the owner/operator of his own business, Harkins Truck and Auto Service. Tom also worked as a driver/mechanic for many years at Bunting Bristol Transfer, and William Levitt building Levittown homes in the very beginning.Tom loved his God and country and proudly served in the US Marine Corps.Tom was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping and traveling extensively with his wife and family.Predeceased by his parents, Mamie Keates Harkins and James Harkins; his brothers, James Harkins, Jr. and Raymond Serrano; his sisters, Carol Raffaele and Joan Weiser. Also his grandparents, Mamie and Edward Keates.Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Helen Elizabeth Lazeration; his daughter, Rozanne Marie Harkins (Edmund Sutterlin); his sons, David Wayne Harkins, Daniel James Harkins (Cathy), Thomas Peter Harkins and Glenn Edward Harkins (Lori); his brothers, Kenneth Serrano (Veronica) and Ralph Feliciano; and his sister, Lillian "Cookie" Mann Kassay.Tom is also survived by his aunts, Alice Kennedy (James) and Evelyn Manna and many nieces and nephews.Nothing brought more joy to his life than his grandchildren, Alicia Lynne Harkins, Corey Lynne Lynn (Jeff), Kari Anne Harkins, Jennifer Marie Harkins (William Patterson), Jake Edward Harkins, Jillian Elizabeth Harkins, Christopher Lee Harkins, Shayna Samero Numbers (Steven). He was the proud great grandfather of Colton Wyatt Lynn, Renee, Trey and Michael Patterson, Raylan Numbers, Nicolina and Elliana Harkins.Family and friends are invited to join the family to celebrate the life of Thomas Harkins on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Emilie United Methodist Church, 7300 New Falls Road, Levittown. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 am, at the church followed by the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
