Rosemary Zambino WeatheringtonRosemary Zambino Weatherington passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family.Rosemary was born in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Fairless Hills in 1958. It was there she met the love of her life, Elwood David Weatherington, and they never looked back. She and Dave have been residents of Levittown for 58 years.Rosemary was a fighter and suffered many setbacks with her health for the past 57 years. Rosemary was one of the first people to have open heart surgery back in 1961 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as a result of having Rheumatic Fever as a child. Then in 1966 she had her second open heart surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and at the time the doctor said if she lived 5 years she would be lucky. Well, Rosemary proved them wrong. Her third open heart surgery was performed on Friday the 13th of July, 2001 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Rosemary was diagnosed with Diabetes in 1989, Kidney Disease in 2011 and suffered Renal Failure in 2015. Rosemary fought to the very end.Rosemary was a member of the Cheech Kelly Bowling League at Levittown Lanes from 1984 to 2005. She enjoyed Country and Ballroom Dancing with her beloved Dave. She also enjoyed going on cruises with her husband and friends; it was so much enjoyment for her. She also enjoyed going to the casinos and loved to play the slot machines. Rosemary also loved playing pinochle with her friends, Mike and Marion on Friday nights.Rosemary and Dave spent the last two years enjoying each other's company going to the movies, lunches and shopping; which she loved to do. Her husband was totally devoted to her.She is the beloved wife of Elwood "Dave", and devoted mother to her children, David A. Weatherington (Linda) and Denise Weatherington Costa (Joe).She is deeply loved by her six grandchildren, Angela Costa Castaldo (Anthony), David William Weatherington, Danielle Lynn Weatherington, Zachary Michael Weatherington, Matthew Tyler Weatherington and Giovanna Sophia Costa. Rosemary will also be sadly missed by her brother, Anthony Zambino and many nieces and nephews.She was a loving daughter of the late Ada (Bonanni) and Tony Zambino and sister of the late Richard Zambino.Rosemary's family was the center of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and many dear friends. She will be loved by everyone who's heart she has touched.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
