Ronald Mazenko Ronald Bubs Mazenko, of Fairless Hills, who was a beloved Husband, Father, Pop Pop, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, bravely ended a brief, but arduous, two month battle with a rare form of cancer, Ewings Sarcoma, on early Tuesday, November 2, 2010. He was 59 years old. Bubs cherished the 37 years he spent married to his devoted wife and the love of his life, Karen Russell whom he married on July 7, 1973. Together they raised four children: Kristin Elizabeth married to Jerrold Jakubowski, Hainesport, NJ, David Michael, Fairless Hills, Sara Lynne married to Andrew Kennedy, San Francisco, CA, Katelyn Anne, a Junior at Villanova University; and two grandchildren, Annabelle Kathryn Jakubowski and Matthew Patrick Jakubowski. Born on August 27th, 1951 in Phillipsburg, PA to the late Joseph and Thelma (Killion) Mazenko. He was number 14 of 15 children, and admittedly, Mommys Favorite . He is survived by a clan of loving siblings: sister-in laws Marion of Coalport, PA, and Linda of Levittown, PA, Joseph (Ruth Ann) of Irvona, PA, Linda Letsinger (Chuck) of Philadelphia, TN, Robert (Darla) and Mary Helen Albright (James) of Coalport, PA, Terrence (Lorraine) of Doylestown, PA, Thomas (Cindy) of Levittown, PA, James (Carol) of Coalport, PA, Timothy (Doris) of Irvona, PA, and Ruth Anne Rudy Lawler (Dan) of Blaine, PA. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Chuck, and his sisters, Marietta, Henrietta, and Peg Schrey Badgley. Bubs was a man of simple pleasures. He reveled in watching his grandchildren Annie and Matty run around playing in the backyard, hollering Pop-pop . He was always ready with his whisker tickles and Annies first belly laugh was the result of Pop-pops silly faces. Dad loved playing golf, growing tomatoes, sitting on the front porch watching thunderstorms, and rooting for the Phillies. It was a joy for Bubs to go to work each day as an Electrician for the Bristol Township School District, and formerly Lower Bucks Hospital, and Joseph Stallone Electrical Contractors. He was an active member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish and was a founding member of the SFC Mens Club, where he famously opened each meeting with his Joke of the Month . Over the years, he spent much of his free time coaching each of the kids in softball and basketball. Bubs was a gentle, good-natured soul who spread laughter and joy to all who he encountered. He never shied away from a microphone and loved to entertain his family and friends with his beautiful singing voice and great story-telling. Bubs life was a shining example of how to live with kindness, humility, and joy. His Family Tradition will live on in each of us as we remember his enduring legacy of selflessness and devotion to family. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at St. Frances Cabrini Church, Oxford Valley Rd. and South Olds Blvd, Fairless Hills. His funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini. Arrangements are being made by the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Levittown, PA (215) 943-7240. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bubs name to the non-profit that has meant much to them over the years, the Rescue Mission of Trenton, P.O. Box 790 Trenton, NJ 08605.
