Ronald was born on April 22, 1935 in Kulpmont PA, to Thomas Barrett and Helen (Krivitski) Barrett. Ronald was the youngest of three sons, and one sister. Ronald did well in school and loved sports. In his spare time, he would do odd jobs to help his family.
After high school Ronald went to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. In 1956, Ronald enlisted in the US Army, and was an instructor at Signal School, Fort Monmouth NJ. He was honorably discharged from the army in 1959. After enlistment, Ronald returned to Pennsylvania. Through a friend he was introduced to a local nurse, Nancy Vincent. They were married in 1962 and started a family.
Ronald was active with his children’s schooling, sporting events, and scouting activities. He and his family often returned to the small Pennsylvania coal town of his birth to visit relatives and enjoy the small-town community and mountains he loved. Ronald was devoted to providing for his family. He was a dedicated employee at each of the places he worked, including, AMBAC Industries, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, Monroe Systems for Business and Parx Casino.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Thomas Barrett, Alfred Barrett and sister Alberta (Barrett) Jodzio. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Vincent) Barrett; children Ronald Barrett Jr. and wife Maggie, Thomas Barrett and wife Linda, Michael Barrett and wife Stacey, and Nancy (Barrett) Morris; grandchildren Madeline Barrett, Dr. Danielle Barrett, Thomas Barrett, Dr. James Barrett, Gina Barrett, Michael Barrett, Brian Morris Jr.; and great grandchildren Donavan Adams, Adrian Adams, Maisie Barrett, Paisley Barrett, Cecilia Barrett, and James Barrett.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 from 10 am until 12 noon at Queen of The Universe Catholic Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA Mass will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 2 pm. Please be at the cortege line by 1:45 pm.
