Born in Luzerne, Pa on November 22, 1932 to the late Frank and Leona Gulla, Robert was taught the importance of hard work and providing for others while being a farm hand on his family’s farm. He was a 1950 graduate of Tunkhannock High School, where he was a star athlete. His football talents earned him 3 letters and he also received a full scholarship to Cornell University, even though he decided not to attend. Instead, Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
After his discharge, Robert happily bought his home in Levittown, got a job as a Letter Carrier in Highland Park with the USPS and went on to marry the love of his life, Theresa A. (nee Martin). Robert spent his life as a hardworking and devoted husband, father and family man.
In 2022, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Theresa. He will be deeply missed by his loving children, William R. Gulla (Sue Hepburn), George S. (Beth) Gulla, Thomas J. (Noreen) Gulla, Sandra (James) Marr, John Gulla, and Joseph (Karen) Gulla; along with his devoted grandchildren, William B. (Jaclyn) Gulla, Bryan M. (Danielle) Gulla, Kaitlyn T. (Jason) Criswell, Michael G. (Amanda) Gulla, Jessica (Anthony) Petruccio, Bobby (Kiera) Gulla, Daniel Wilks, Amanda Gulla, Josie Gulla, and Thomas Edward Gulla. Also left to cherish his memory are his great-grandchildren, Evelyn Gulla, Owen Gulla, James Criswell, Luke Petruccio and Georgia Petruccio; as well as his sisters, Carol (Dave) Williams and Betty (Bruce) Gordon.
Robert was predeceased by his brother, Bernie Gulla.
Services and interment will be private.
