Bob was born on February 16, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, to parents, the late Robert F. Cunningham Sr. and Julia Cunningham (nee Booz). He graduated from Frankford High School in 1965. He attended Temple University. Bob went on to establish a career as an Electrical Engineer, working for Ewing Cole for over 30 years. In addition, Bob served six years in the United States Army Reserve in Special Ready Forces.
Bob was married to the love of his life, Joan, for over 54 years. Bob and Joan enjoyed traveling with their friends and family. Bob was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. He was part of the design team for Citizens Bank Park while working for Ewing Cole.
Bob is survived by his wife Joan, his sons; Robert S. Cunningham and wife Lisa and Kevin S. Cunningham and wife Holly and his five grandchildren, Collin, Kyle, Caitlyn, Jason and Grace.
A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 22 from 7:00pm-9:00pm at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056, followed by a viewing from 10:00am-11:00am on Wednesday, August 23, and funeral service at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
