Peter R. DeFlavia of Warminster died on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Hospital Hospice. He was 85. Mr. DeFlavia was born in Philadelphia where he graduated from Olney High School in 1946. For 57 years he resided in the Cobalt Ridge section of Levittown before moving to Waminster a year and a half ago. He was a former member of Queen of the Universe parish. Mr. DeFlavia served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. He was a carpenter by trade and spent his career as a facilities technician. He reitred in 1995 after 30 years of service. Outside of work, Pete would often be found performing home improvements in the Lower Bucks area. He enjoyed gardening and liked making his own wine. But most of all, Pete enjoyed his trips to Parx Casino and Atlantic City. Mr. DeFlavia was the beloved husband of Constance (DeLaurentis) DeFlavia for nearly 59 years. He was the loving father of Joanne Strack (Ron), Petrina Sichak (Dave), Vincent C. DeFlavia (Laura), Michael J. DeFlavia and Andrew E. DeFlavia. He was the devoted grandpop of Daniel and Lisa Strack, Nicholas Sichak and Alyssa and Gianna DeFlavia. Family and friends are invited to call Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Friends may also call on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA 19056 where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the Universe Church at the address above or Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W Street Rd, Warminster, PA 18974.
