Patricia A. Crandall, of Levittown, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at her home. She was 83. Born in Carnegie, PA, Mrs. Crandall was one of eight children who were raised on a farm. She was an original Levittown homeowner. Mrs. Crandall worked as a cashier at the Rite Aid located on Route 413 and New Falls Road in Levittown for 30 years until retiring in December of 2010. She was an inquisitive person by nature who had a true desire to learn everything she could. She was an avid reader and one of her favorite places was the Levittown Library. A lover of nature, she instilled in her children an appreciation for the beauty of God's creation. Mrs. Crandall was the wife of the late Leonard R. Crandall. She was the loving mother of Leonard T. Crandall and his wife Colleen of Fairless Hills, Michael J. Crandall and his wife Robin of Levittown, Patricia Connors and her husband Thomas J. of Levittown, Taffy Kneller and her husband George D. of Levittown, Lisa Evans and her husband David J. of Fallsington and Amy Deitz and her husband Edward of Levittown. She will also be sadly missed by 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, her brother Richard Thornton, her sister Janice Londino, many nieces and nephews and her dear friend Sis DuHadway. She was preceded in death by siblings Irwin, Robert, Alice, James and most recently Mary Ruth. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the James. J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment is private.
