Nancy H. Walton Nancy H. (DeYoung) Walton, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the home of her son and surrounded by her loved ones. Born to Helen and John DeYoung, she was the oldest and only girl of her five siblings. She was born and raised in Newtown, PA and graduated from Newtown High School. Her unconditional love for all her children was exceptional, but most of all, no words can describe the love she had for her daughter Gwen and her son Daryl. She cared for them every night and day and being a great mother that she was, she never let their handicap intervene in having them live a normal life. She took great care of them at home. She never once gave it a thought to have them live anywhere else. She wanted them home with her getting the best care they could get and she did just that. She made many sacrifices throughout her life without ever complaining. She truly was an angel. For a short time, Nancy worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company, Newtown, PA. Nancy met her husband, Alfred "Reds" while serving as a WAVE in the US Navy while stationed in San Diego, during World War II. They were married on July 16, 1949 and moved to Levittown in 1953 where they raised their six children. She resided in Levittown for over 60 years until moving in with her son and his family in Bristol eight months ago. She was truly an original Levittowner. She was a wonderful domestic engineer and a wonderful cook. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and talking to family and old friends from Newtown. We won't forget the many stories she shared with all of us about growing up in Newtown and serving in the war. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Walton, her two children, Gwendolyn Peloquin and Daryl Walton, her daughter-in-law, Donna Walton, son-in-law, Vincent Fackenthall and her brothers, William and Robert DeYoung. She is survived by her children, Naomi Fackenthall of Phoenix, AZ; Dana Walton (Terry) and Dale Walton of Levittown and David Walton (Patty) of Bristol. She will also be sadly missed by her three brothers, Johnny, Thomas and Gerald DeYoung, her 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their sincere thank you to the nurses from Saint Mary Medical Center Compassionate Care and Hospice Units, Sandy, Mary and Brooke, for giving her the best care. Thank you to her dear friends, Betty, John, Jim, Nancy, Mary Jo, Steve and Debbie for being there when we couldn't. Thank you to Sr. Delores Duffy and Father Patrick Lemming for your many years of friendship. God bless all of you for being so loving and kind. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, from 9:00 until 10:00 at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, PA 19054, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Andrew Cemetery, Newtown. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, please consider the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 521 Plymouth Road, #108, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 or to Saint Michael the Archangel Church at the above address.
