Michael J. Mabin, Sr. passed away with his loving family by his side, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the age of 67. He fought courageously against Pancreatic cancer. He always won his battles but, sadly lost this one. He was so giving and loving and he was everything that was right in the world. There will be a great void in all of our lives without him. May God hold you in the palm of his hand until we meet again one day.Born in Fort Dix, NJ, son of Sheilagh (Folkard) Mabin and the late Daniel J. Mabin, he was raised in Levittown, and has been a life time resident of Lower Bucks County. He was a 1969 graduate of Pennsbury High School.Mike was a current member of Saint Andrew Parish in Newtown and spent many years as a very active member of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Levittown.He was the President and CEO of PennFab, Inc., currently in Falls Township, formerly of Bensalem. Mike was very active in his community and was a member of numerous Boards, Authorities and Commissions including The Saint Mary Hospital Advisory Board, Bucks County Industrial Authority (Vice Chairman), and also serving as Chairman of numerous Fitzpatrick for Congress Campaigns.Mike was a very passionate person and his main pursuit was getting the Fairness to Veterans Act passed that would ensure that Veteran owned businesses were given equal opportunity in playing a critical role in rebuilding America's infrastructure. He attended many meetings in support of the approval and construction of the Washington Crossing National Cemetery. He was also a strong supporter of the Guardians of the National Cemetery where with his talent and resources he supported their many charitable efforts.Mike was a loving, kind, generous, strong man who was committed to his family and friends. Mike was a proud Veteran. He served his country in the US Coast Guard for search and rescue, where he protected our coast, saved lives, and did whatever it took to get people home safely. His latest passion was spearheading a fundraising campaign for St. Michael's School in Levittown.Son-in-law of the late James A. and Marion E. O'Neill, brother of the late Daniel P. Mabin (Kris) and Sean G. Mabin (Kathy), he is the grandfather of the late Gabriel C. Krotzer.Beloved husband of nearly 48 years to Marion D. (O'Neill), Mike is the loving father of Heather Mabin Krotzer (Steven), Michael J. Mabin, Jr. (Kristie Kash) and Jillian Mabin.He is the devoted grandfather of Colin and Brielle Krotzer, Michael and Ashlynne Mabin and Jamison Lane.Mike is the dear brother of Alexander (Vanessa), Sheilagh Moschitti (Gino), Kevin T., Maureen McGettigan (Daniel), Mary Bowe (Brian), Kathleen McKamey (Schaunn), Anne Wenderlich (Steve), Patrick and James A. O'Neill, Jr.He will also be sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Kristen Mabin, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, cherished friends especially, Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick, Honorable Frank Peranteau, Sr. and Joseph McFadden, his cousin and dear friend.Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may also call on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 8:30 until 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.
