Metro Tolby

Metro Tolby died, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Chandler Hall in Newtown. He was 89.Born in Coaldale, PA, Mr. Tolby has been an original Levittown homeowner since 1954 and was also a founding member of the fomer Immaculate Conception Parish.Until his retirement, Mr. Tolby was employed as an Inspector at US Steel Fairless Works. He was an umpire for 34 years for many local and high school baseball leagues.He is a proud US Air Force veteranMr. Tolby loved the Phillies, Penn State and Temple and was also an Eagles fan.He loved horses and going to the Racetrack.Beloved husband of 62 years to Teresa (Darzinikas), Mr. Tolby is the loving father of Anthony (Susan), Thomas (Denise) and David (Cheryl). He is the devoted grandfather of 9 and brother of the late Michael Tolby.Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, from 12:00 until 1:00 pm at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm. The Rite of Committal will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice or mass cards would be appreciated.
