Maximillian Oestreich, IIIMax “Pop-pop” Oestreich passed into the loving arms of his Savior surrounded by his devoted family on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the age of 77. He will be remembered as a kindhearted man who loved family and friends above himself.Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Max has lived in Levittown for the past 75 years. Max was an instrument mechanic for the Rohm and Haas Company for forty years before retiring in 1997. Prior to his time with Rohm and Haas, Max served for the United States National Guard for eight years. He also was a faithful member and former deacon of Faith Baptist Church.Max was a wonderful husband of 58 years to Thelma (Walsh) Oestreich and loving father to Sharon Wanderer (Ray), James Oestreich (Adele), Catherine Poapst (Michael) and Carol Rhone (Richard). He was also a devoted grandfather to twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and was considered family by the many lives that he touched.We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Pop-pop during his 77 years, among them: Always love even when it is difficult; keep family close, and constantly expand what family means to include more friends and put God first, accept him into your heart for salvation as he did as a young boy.Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm at the Faith Baptist Church, 1515 Wistar Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030, where his going home service will be celebrated at 12:00 pm. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute in Max’s memory to Faith Baptist Church, at the above address.
