Mary Lou ReedMary Lou Reed died on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Lower Bucks Hospital. She was 84.Born in Utahville, PA and raised in Rahway, NJ, Mary Lou has been a long time resident of Lower Bucks County.She spent most of her career working as a general accountant for Keystone Lighting for over 20 years.Mary Lou was a lifetime member of Levittown Fire Company #1 Auxiliary since 1972 and was still proudly working events at the Fire Hall.She was also involved in a local Red Hat Society and the Levittown Retired and Senior Citizens Club.Mary Lou was an avid reader and in her younger years enjoyed traveling.She was completely devoted to her family.Beloved mother of Diane Fry (Bob) of Smyrna, DE and Donna Ryabin (Alex) of Lansdale, PA, Mary Lou is the loving grandmother of Matthew Sullivan (Rachel), Brenna and Clare Ryabin and the proud great grandmother of Teaghan Sullivan.She is the sister of Foster W. Gates, Jr. and lifelong friend of Gertie Delano and the aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents, Dora Mae (Baer) and Foster William Gates, Sr.; a sister, Peggy Baker; a brother, Jack Baer; her former husband, LeRoy J. Reed, and 2 of the "Golden Girls", Grace and Dottie.Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm. Interment will be held privately.In lieu of flowers, her family strongly requests memorial contributions in Mrs. Reed's name be made to the American Heart Association, 1617 JFK Blvd., Suite 700, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
