Mary Lou Kane of Levittown died on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at her home. She was 79. Born in Passaic, NJ, Mary Lou was an original Levittown homeowner in Middletown Township since 1955 and was a member of Queen of the Universe parish. She loved the Jersey shore and spent her summers in Spring Lake, NJ with her children and grandchildren. She worked at Our Lady of Grace school where she touched the lives of countless children for over 20 years until retiring in 1995. Mary Lou was the beloved wife of John J. Kane for 58 years. She was the loving mother of Kathleen Files (D. Daniel), John Kane (Megan), William Kane (Sherrie) and Patty O'Connor (Emmet). She was the devoted "Nanny" of Kelly, Danny, Kaitlin, Tara, Morena, Conor, Maria, Terrence, Johnny, Murphy, Liam, Grace, Jack, Kane, Molly, and Kerry. She will also be missed by her sister, Mildred Holtz, and several nieces and nephews. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her brother Martin Barry. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 9 until 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 225 S. Bellevue Ave., Penndel where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
