Mary K. Clarke

Mary Katherine Clarke died on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Saint Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. Mrs. Clarke (Pietrobono) was born, September 8, 1925 to Anna (DeVincentis) and Joseph Pietrobono in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia. She was the beloved wife and best friend for 61 years of William (Pud) Clarke. Mary will be dearly missed by her children and their spouses, (the late) Steven and Rosemarie Clarke, Trevose; Bill and Michelle Clarke of Thompson Station, TN; Patricia Yuliano, VA, the late Bobby Clarke; Sue Clarke-Curry and Glenn Curry, Newtown as well as her many grandchildren and grand dogs. She was the sister to Anthony Pietrobono, Quakertown and the late Rita Maguire, Levittown. Mary enjoyed being a lifelong resident of Levittown and served as Democrat Committee woman to the 8th Ward. She was also Treasurer of the Bristol Township School Board. Among her many social interests, Mary was an active member of the Liberty Bell Chapter of the Ex Prisoners of War as well as a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society. She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Levittown. A true salt of the earth, Mary gained much fulfillment by working in her flower and vegetable gardens as well as being an avid reader. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and celebration of her life from 7 until 9 pm on Thursday, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, and again on Friday from 10:30 until 11:30 am. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, 12:00 noon at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. The family has requested that memorial contributions in her name be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 125 S. 9th Street, Suite 202, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
