Born on July 20, 1964, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel (Ned) and Paulette Hellings and cherished sister of Samuel E. Hellings, III, and his wife, Terri, and aunt to Elizabeth, Samuel, and Stephen Hellings. She will be missed by her extended family and friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
After graduating from Neshaminy High School in 1984 and Bucks County Technical School in 1985, she held several jobs in the service area. Most recently, Mary worked at the Giant Food store in Yardley, a position she held for more than ten years and one that gave her great pride. As a youngster, she participated in Special Olympics and won several medals for swimming. Mary was an excellent reader, bringing home weekly stacks of religious and self-help books from the library. She also enjoyed fashion and accessorizing her outfits with coordinating hand bags and jewelry. Most of all, she loved her family and was generous with her hugs, which were legendary.
Mary's family would like to thank the staff of Chandler Hall for their care of Mary in her last days and the Giant Food company for their policy of hiring the handicapped.
A viewing for Mary will occur on Friday, December 2 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church with Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Mary will be buried with her parents at Tullytown Cemetery.
