Martha E. Henshaw

Martha E. Henshaw died at Aria Health - Bucks Campus on Monday, January 4, 2010. She was 85. Mrs. Henshaw was an original Levittown homeowner since 1956 and was a member of Queen of the Universe Church. She enjoyed home decorating and gardening. Mrs. Henshaw was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She earned her degree in Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Mrs. Henshaw served in the US Navy and was stationed in Washington, DC during World War II. Mrs. Henshaw was voted "Victory Queen" for the War Bond Drive effort. Mother of the late William Henshaw who died in 2003, Mrs. Henshaw is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years , Jonathan C. and her loving children, Jane Kirk of Castle Rock, CO; Mary Watkins (Tim) of Littleton, CO; Thomas (Debbie) of Crystal Lake, IL; Daniel of Levittown; and Anne Henshaw-Rolsal (Tony) of Doylestown. She also will be sadly missed by her 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Kay Sparks. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, from 8:30 until 9:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown 19056. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. The family has requested that memorial contributions in her name be made to the above church.
