Marie Brittain

Born in Scranton, PA, she was a lifelong area resident. Marie enjoyed gardening, swimming at the YMCA with her ladies group, sewing, and well known for her knitting, baking cakes and pies, and Scrabble. Though she held various jobs throughout her life, her primary job was caring for family.

Predeceased by her parents, Arden and Agnes Houser; her loving husband John Robert Brittain, Sr.; and her sons John Robert Jr. and Patrick Brittain Sr.; she is survived by her daughter Barbara Umek; and her son, Jan Brittain and Margaret.

Marie will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Eric Brittain (Traci), Jennifer Fischer (Steve), Jessica Melville (Neil), Francine McGonagle (Phillip), William Umek (Sheila), Robert Umek (Jennifer), Marianne Yobb (Joseph), Eileen Lindsay (Russell), and Patrick Brittain Jr. (Debbie); 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 9 AM until 10 AM followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, PA. Interment will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
