Marguerite T. Mitchell, age 92, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at her home. Marguerite moved to Levittown, Pennsylvania in 1957 where she was an original homeowner. She was a member of the New Queen of the Universe Church and sang in the choir. Prior to her retirement, Marguerite was an operator for the former Bell Telephone Company of NY, NJ and PA for 30 years. Marguerite played various instruments including violin, mandolin, ukulele, piano and guitar. She also sang under the professional stage name, "Teddy Ames." Marguerite was an adept artist who displayed select oil paintings in regional art shows, frequently winning various awards. Marguerite was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Mitchell, U.S. Marine Corps, WW II. Joe was the love of Marguerite's life. "He was the most wonderful person." She is survived by her nephews, Howard and Charles Almen; nieces, Virginia Fericy and Beverly Wiley; grandnephew Arthur Fericy and his fiancee Toni Cooke; great-grandnephews Matthew Ognissanti and Joseph Fericy and his wife Chay; special friend, Julie Petix; and devoted caregivers, Sehrish Johnson, Kimberly Mayger and Norma Silver, RN. Family and friends are invited to call from 10 until 11 AM on Wednesday at the New Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
