Marguerite Brophy

Marguerite M. BrophyMarguerite M. Brophy died on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne after a brief illness. She was 91.Born in Palmyra, NJ, Mrs. Brophy was an original homeowner in the North Park section of Levittown. She was a charter and lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Levittown FireCompany #1 and a longtime active member of the Moose, Bristol Chapter #2299. Mrs. Brophy worked tirelessly with both of these organizations. She was also a former member of the VFW John Billington Post #6495 of Levittown.Mrs. Brophy retired after 40 years of service with the Pennsbury School District.Throughout her life, Mrs. Brophy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, camping, her volunteer work and most especially her dogs.Beloved wife of the late John R. Jr., Mrs. Brophy is the loving mother of Margaret Moffatt (late Jack K.) and the late J. Roger III. She is the devoted grandmother of Karyn Moffatt Mrs. Brophy is the sister of Joseph J. Chemilenski (Joyce) and Florence Asky (David).Mrs. Brophy will also be sadly missed by her nephew Thomas Chemilenski (Meg), nieces, Barbara Russell (Andrew) and Donna Chemilenski; a host of nieces and nephews in the Brophy Family; and great nieces, Morgan, Lauren and Kaitlyn.Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 until 10:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown.
