Lawrence Patrick "Larry" McGlynn, Jr., of Levittown, died on Friday, June 8, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, Larry was a long time resident of Levittown and recently returned to the area from a wonderful retirement in Hobe Sound, FL with his wife of 60 years, Phyllis. He was a 1952 graduate of Hamilton High School and was an Air Force veteran serving from 1952 until 1960. Larry was a conductor for Amtrak and served as their union treasurer. He enjoyed the yearly Railroad Retirement dinner which he always attended with his son, Larry III. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in both Levittown and Florida. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence (Lonnie) McGlynn, his mother, Lena Filosi Schuster of Bristol, his brother Sam McGlynn of Trenton, NJ and his granddaughter Maggie Michalik. Larry is survived by his wife Phyllis Lorraine Lamont and his children Mary Strecula and husband Dave of Fairless Hills, Lorraine McMahon and husband Jim of Holland, Diane Loughery and husband Robert of Holland, Colleen Graver and Stan Zandlo of Levittown, Melanie Michalik and husband John of Bridgeville, DE and Lawrence Patrick McGlynn and wife Jean of Pipersville. He will also be sadly missed by 14 grandchidlren and 6 great grandchildren. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 12:30 utnil 1:30 p.m at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
