Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Costanzo moved to Levittown with her husband, John in 1958 where she was an original homeowner of the Quincy Hollow community. She was a founding member of Queen of the Universe parish where she was formerly active with the Regina Guild. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion for many years.
For 30 years, Mrs. Costanzo was a bookkeeper with Manco Steel until retiring at 80 years old.
Mrs. Costanzo loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed hosting and cooking big family dinners.
She will be lovingly remembered for her wonderful sense of humor.
Beloved wife of the late John Costanzo Sr., Josephine was the loving mother of Frank Costanzo (Linda), Steven Costanzo (Penny) and Mary Hagen (Scott); devoted grandmother of Nicole Bostic, Danielle Scardino and Lisa Maddox and great grandmother of Sean, Anthony, Sophie, Ellie and Harper.
She will also be missed by her sister, Claire Cannizzaro and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 9 until 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 21st at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church followed by Rite of Committal at Resurrection Cemetery.
