Joseph J. Pitcavage

Joseph J. Pitcavage, of Langhorne, died on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 83. Born in Shenandoah, PA, Mr. Pitcavage was a resident of Levittown for many years before moving to Langhorne 10 years ago. He was employed with Firmenich in Plainsboro, NJ for 36 years until retiring in 1995. Husband of the late Florence Pitcavage, he is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Frances Shipkowski Pitcavage. He was the stepfather of Cindi and Ed Hinkle, Steve Shipkowski, Kathy Brand and Marie and Bill Bresnahan and "Pop Joe" of Sarah, Amanda, Angela, Nick, Chrissy, Jason, Josh, Billy,Patrick and Shannon. He is also survived by great grandchildren Christopher, Maddie, Kalea, Connor and London. Mr. Pitcavage was the brother of Leonard and Mary Elizabeth Pitcavage, the late John and his surviving wife Bertha Pitcavage, and the late Helen and her surviving husband Gene Konowski. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 9 until 10:30 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church followed by Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery.
