He was one of seven children, being the oldest of one brother and five sisters. He was educated in the Catholic School System, graduating from North Catholic High School and St. Joseph’s University as a pre-med student. His education was cut short as he joined the Army in World War II. When he returned, he finished his degree in Accounting at the University of Pennsylvania.
He served in the Army for three and a half years as an Army Scout and Radio Operator in the Pacific. He was awarded five Battle Stars with seven Bronze Service Stars.
After his discharge, he married, moved to Levittown, PA and became the father of four children, one boy and three girls. He served as Treasurer of the Levittown Fire Company #2 for twenty-one years and worked as a Cost Accountant at the Budd Company for thirty-three years. After retiring, he moved to Cape May where he held several part-time jobs, well into his eighties.
Joseph was a loving father who cared very much for his family. He proudly boasted of being the grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of four. We will miss him dearly as he was the type of father any family would be proud of. God bless his soul!
Beloved husband of the late Josephine (Triolo), Mr. Pedrick is the loving father of Donna Wieland (Robert), Joan Hackbart, Patricia Clark (Rick) and Joseph Pedrick (Dana); devoted grandfather of Ginamarie Lott, William Clark (Roxy), Jeffrey Wieland (April), Stefanie Wieland, Kathleen Hackbart, Lynnmarie Hackbart, Kimberly Fabbo (Ryan) and Karley Pedrick; proud great grandfather of Gavin, Gracyn, Alexander and Nicolas; and dear brother of Ann Reynolds (Edward).
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife; four sisters; one brother; son-in-law, Robert Wieland, and great-grandson, Nicolas Lott.
Mr. Pedrick will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
