Joseph D. O'MearaJoseph D. O'Meara passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Aria Health Bucks Campus in Langhorne at the age of 89.Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mr. O'Meara has been an original homeowner in Levittown since October 1953 and a founding member of Saint Michael the Archangel Church.Until his retirement in 1992, Mr. O'Meara was employed with E.G. Budd, Company for over 30 years. While employed at Budd he also worked at Sears Warehouse in Fallsington for many years and later with Shop-Rite Bakery Department for several years.He was an US Army World War II veteran. Mr. O'Meara was a longtime volunteer at Lower Bucks Hospital and a former Judge of Elections in Bristol Township.Most important to him always, was his dedication to his wife and family.He is the loving father of the late Thomas O'Meara.Beloved husband of nearly 67 years to Mildred "Gloria" (DeGross), Mr. O'Meara is the loving father of Joseph D. (Dolores), Patricia Hildebrand (Mark), Kathleen Abriola (Jim), Marie G. Bell (Walter Hilton) and Eileen Kanuck (Thomas).Mr. O'Meara is the loving grandfather of 15; proud great grandfather of 15; and dear brother of Rose Hutchinson. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, followed by the Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery. There will be no calling hours on Saturday morning.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. O'Meara's name may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
