Joseph H. Lukens Jr.Joseph H. Lukens Jr. of Levittown died on April 18, 2018 at Langhorne Gardens. He was 90.Born in Langhorne, Joe was a life long Lower Bucks County resident and graduate of Neshaminy High School where he was a running back on the football team from 1942-1944 and was a member of the Hall of Fame. He worked as an electrician at the former Greenwood Dairies for many years and later with Toll Brothers.He was a proud Army veteran of World War II.Joe was second generation firefighter and 75 year life member of the Penndel Fire Company where he held many positions including Firefighter, Chief Engineer, Rescue Captain, Assistant Chief, Recording Officer, Vice President, President and Trustee. He was also a member of the second class of Certified Paramedics in Bucks County and a life member of the Penndel Middletown Emergency Squad where he served as a Paramedic, Safety Officer and Chief Driver.In earlier years, Joe was an accomplished roller skater. In more recent years he enjoyed spending time outdoors and taking trips to the Western United States.Joe had many friends throughout his life and will be greatly missed by all of them as well as his friends from the Penndel Fire Company and the Penndel Middletown Emergency Squad.Family and friends are invited to call from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Friends are also invited to assemble on the parking lot at the funeral home on Wednesday, 8:45 a.m. for a procession to Washington Crossing National Cemetery where a committal service will be held at 10 a.m.
