John J. Shelly

John J. Shelly passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at the age of 52.Born in Philadelphia, John has been a life time resident of Levittown and was a graduate of Harry S. Truman High School's first class in 1985.John spent most of his working career at Electronic Flouro Carbons, Inc. in Hatfield, PA, as a chemical operator. He also spent several years as a short order cook in the local area including Stadium Bar and Grill.He was a very proud US Army veteran spending time overseas in Germany. John was a member of the American Legion Memorial Post 960.He was a huge Philadelphia sports fan and also enjoyed the Trenton Thunder.Loving father of Brandon J. and Noah Shelly, John is the son of the late Dagmar and Robert Werts.He will also be sadly missed by his 2 sisters; 4 brothers; several nieces, nephews; and extended family.Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Interment will be held privately.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flyer's Charities, 3601 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148.
