Born on January 7, 1952 in Philadelphia, he was raised in Levittown and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1969. He has resided in Bensalem for the past 46 years where he was an active member of St. Ephrem parish.
He worked as a conductor with New Jersey Transit for many years until retiring.
Jack enjoyed spending time at the family shore house in Holgate, Long Beach Island and loved surf fishing with his family and friends. He loved entertaining and hosting family during holidays and special events. He also cherished canoe trips and camping with his brothers.Jack was the beloved husband of Patricia (Sharp) for 49 years.
He was the loving father of Shawn, Timothy (Rich) and James (Kat) and the devoted "Pop-Pop" to Kayli (Josh), Laney, Reilly, Jack, Sean, Arrianna and Jamie.
Jack was the son of the late John R. and Marie (Reilly) Gallen and was the loving oldest brother of nine children.
He will also be missed by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 8th at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Friends may also call from 10 until 11 a.m. on Friday, April 9th at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
