James J. Watson, of Morrisville died on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at his home. He was 80. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Watson has been a resident of Morrisville for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Pennsbury High School class of 1952. He was a Navy veteran of Korea. Mr. Watson worked for G.E./Trane for 28 years until retiring in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion Post #834 and the VFW Post #6495. He was an avid golfer and member of the DOT Golf League. He also enjoyed karaoke and loved his quoits. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles L. and Mary (Flynn) Watson, the love of his life Beverly Pletts and his siblings Walt, Charles and Frank Watson, Ella Egan and Rebie Craft. Mr. Watson was the beloved father of Laurie (Watson) Rogers and her husband Ken of Levittown and the stepfather of Janet Henwood and her husband Rich of Bensalem. He was the devoted grandfather of Kyle, Eric, Cory and Nicole Rogers, Brandon Spirk and Shelly Wehrmann and the great grandfather of Jackson Wehrmann. He will also be missed by his very special friends David and Cathie Fitzgerald, his companion Madelyn Plattus, many nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Hummer. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Jim will be laid to rest privately at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, Jim would like everyone to pay it forward with a kind word, help family, friends and neighbors and enjoy life as he did. "Keep on rolling with the flow."
