Born and raised in Levittown, James (aka Big Jim) was a 1984 graduate of Harry S. Truman High School where he was involved in both Baseball and Football. In his senior year, he was the Captain of the Truman Tigers Football team. During his younger years, Jim played Little League for Levittown American and Babe Ruth. He also played football and basketball for St. Michael the Archangel CYO. After graduating high school, he attended Millersville University and later received his Bachelor’s Degree from California State University Long Beach.
In his later years, Jim worked and resided on the Grand Cayman Islands. He enjoyed sports fishing off the coast of Costa Rica, playing golf and blackjack. His motto in life was “Have a Game Plan – Learn it, Live it, Love it”.
Beloved son of Constance (Engel) and the late John T. Shivers, Jr., James was the loving brother of Lolain (Lanie) Striluk (Michael), John T. Shivers, III and Justin T. Shivers (Sandi).
He was the devoted Uncle of Breannin (Breezy) and Zachary Striluk and will be sorely missed by several aunts, uncles, cousins and very dear friends.
