James P. Lundy died suddenly on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at his home in Pittsburgh, PA where he has resided for the past 30 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Aileen P. (Higgins) and Thomas P. Lundy, James moved with his family to Levittown in 1955 and attended Queen of the Universe school. Jim graduated form Bishop Egan High School in 1969 and from Penn State University in 1973. He was employed by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he made many caring friends. Jim enjoyed exercising, old movies, vacations on the beach and especially times spent with his family. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his generosity. Reunited now with his beloved parents, Aileen and Thomas, Jim will be sadly missed by his siblings Thomas and Sonsee Lundy of Lehigh Valley, Marie and Tom Callahan of Indian Trail, NC, Dan Lundy of Colorado Springs., CO and Bernadette and Bill Barker of Croydon, as well as by his loving nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles and many cousins. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm and on Wednesday, February 2 from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 2, at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA 19056.
